Last night thousands of video game fans all over the US camped out in front of stores, braving rain and chilly temperatures to get their hands on the Xbox 360. In Seattle, Bill Gates himself showed up at a Best Buy store to hand out the very first Xbox 360 console.
Despite lukewarm reviews from the mainstream press, the demand for the new console is bigger than Microsoft’s 360 launch day stockpile. Many people who have been standing in line for hours have been sent home empty handed. Gamers in Europe can expect a similar situation December 2, so if you plan on getting the console on day one you better get your camping gear ready.     Add Comment  1 -

This is so funny, Imagine...You make fun of Sony, the PS2 and the PS3, then shut off your computer to go stand in a line for hours to get the (in your eyes) truly superior XBOX 360. Finally its your turn. You excitedly buy it, get it home, turn it on and BAM it shuts off, or freezes after only a few minutes of play. That confused and worried look comes across your face as you tell your friends it must just be a glitch and reset the power to start playing again. Then, to your worst fears, it locks up again, darn, and just as your were winning the race. So you take the disc out and start to search the back using the glare of a near by lamp until you spot it. A single tiny peice of lint "ha, there it is" you exclaim knowing deep down that is not causing all the trouble as you clean the disc and restart your game. I've got an xbox 360Unregistered - undisputed2k6 11.24.2005 00:23 I've had my 360 system for 2 days now and have been playing it for over 5 to 6 hrs at a time. No problems here. It has been working like a charm. Yes, I'm a fanboy of both systems so I'm not biased. But I know all of you remember PS2 and their D.R.E.'s (DISC READ ERROR) problem. This was a problem for certain models. Point is no console is ever perfect when it comes out. That’s why u buy a warranty. So far I am thankful mine runs fine. But you can't reject a system because of a few bad apples. That will always be the case when humans are the ones who develop them. Till then, enjoy! P.S. - Madden 06 on x360 is da bomb but I rather EA took another month or 2 to add all the features (that was f*cked up) rather than trying to hurry for launch day. But the game play is better and challenging as ever.... peace... 41 -

Give me PS2 or even xbox anyday for now or give me a free xbox 360 cause I am not spending one cent on it till I see some quality come out of it. Oh and I never had a problem with either my Ps1 or PS2 which I have had the PS2 since launch and it works fine and always has. I know quality and the 360 lacks some in that area. If not let me remind you of all the dead pixels, faulty battery packs, etc. Or how about the PS2? I remember hearing (and experiencing) the disk read eroors, the overheating, the scratching of disks. Or maybe the Ps1, any one remember the good old days of having to lay the thing on its top in order to get it to read the disks? Guess what, any peice of technology, be it computer cpus, graphics cards, tvs, dvd players, microwaves, and yes; even game consoles, have some products ship initally that have defects no matter how much testing. We just dont hear so much about most of the other things because it is a situation that is easily rectified by quickly returning the product back to wherever it was bought. The problem with the x360,PsP, xbox, and ps2 launches are that they are insuch high demand that there is no stock for it to a defective one to be replaced with. So all the fanboys cool it with the comments saying it proves how much the console sucks. If thats true then what does that say about the ps1, ps2, psp, and ps3? Yes get over it, there will be some of you experiencing the same thing when it launches. The game was originally developed for the Gamecube (makes sense considering Perfect Dark was on the N64). And I gotta tell ya, it certainly looks like a Gamecube game. PS3 will be undisputed because of the Cell and Blu-ray. I was looking at some of the best 360 titles screenshots(Too Human,Mass Effect), while they are very very good but still are PC like. Too Human is scheduled for 2007 release but is no way near MGS4. We haven't seen such graphics on 360 yet and i doubt we'll see any.The Cell cpu can do graphics as well while 360 cpu can't. My first choice is PS3 and second is 360 premium if it's price comes down to 199$ (perhaps in 2007). 67 -

I would say Xbox fans are mostly between the ages of 12-18 and need some parental attention badly. And they make things up about Sony and Sony fans. They are in fact alot like Gates himself. He stole the technology (from a friend) that made him what he is, he gets mad when he doesnt get his way and starts making things up. (much like when he yelled at Howard Stringer CEO of Sony, at a electronics show because Blu-ray wouldnt adopt a MS program to run Blu-ray on PC and then he called major retailers and lied so that Blu-ray had to put out his fires which they did.) Grow up and if you havent anything better to say, dont say anything at all. Go play with your 360, if your mommy and Daddy bought you one. If they didnt then find something constuctive to do, like cleam your own room, or change your own diaper, maybe even wash your own mouth out with soap. I cracked it open 2 or 3 times to fix the problem, but they just kept coming back, and now my original PS2 is laying in my closet with the disc tray half out, but my current one has given me no problems. 76 -
