Speaking at the Tokyo International Digital Conference, Sony's Ken Kutaragi has been outlining his predictions for the future of PS3's Cell processor including a future 'Micro Cell."

ViviciousNodieza 10.31.2005 16:29 Vivicious, sorry if I was confusing, no you can't visually see the difference between 60 and 120 frames when a Tv can only flash, 30 (or 60, depending on HD or not) BUT if or when that tv that can display 120fps comes out, no you still wont SEE the difference but your eyes will be much less irritated and they will be decieved into seeing smoother flowing images, Nintendo was talking about stuff like that a while ago saying how much your mind consciencely doensn't like to stare at a tv, like I said anything below 85fps on something that can display 200 (cpu monitor)kills ME, my girlfriend can't tell the difference, but I can... but on a TV 30fps is fine for me. Sorry if I seemed harsh on that last post, Ken isn't crazy, I think it's cool he's trying to push the envelope, even if it's excessive, at least ps3 isn't just an "upgrade" Yay moderators! Hl2 Lost Cost looks so sexy on my Gpu, I bought day of defeat, it's awsome. Besides being technically superior in almost every way the PS3 also has a far larger customer base than does the 360 and only a moron would argue that. Also, if you realy take a good look at 360 game and Xbox games, you'll see that the 360 is not really nexgen, but instead an Xbox 1.5 of sorts. As of this weekend I have gotten a refund on my 360 preorder and am patiently waiting for PS3 preorders to start. I'm strongly advising you, the Xbox 360 is not what you think it will be. Killzone and MGS4 is a hurdle sony has made for themselves to try to meet by that time. I don't know when killzone is planned but if it is at ps3 launch than they won't meet that standard. They'll be slightly under and you'll say well it's close enough. MGS4 is what 2007 or something. You've got to be kidding me when you say that those graphics are what to expect. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT .. ALL YOU HAVE IS SONY'S HYPE. That means I can get rid of more of my money and give to those who really care and and deserve it, Sony. You cant visually tell the diverence between 60fps and 120fps so locking framerates at anything over 60fps is pointless. 2. No Tv can refresh at such a framerate and buy the time tvs do no one will want an old PS3, theree will be bigger and better things. 3. Ken is just blowin smoke to build hype. I mean he wasnt exactly telling the truth about ps2, hmm I recall Toystory graphics being one of those promises. And before I get flamed I want to say I am going to get a PS3 as well as a xbox360 because I think there both great and it is true that the games will sell the system, Im looking forward to Gears of War for x360 and MGS4 for PS3. Vivicious 11.07.2005 20:24 Whoa, sorry Nodieza, but the human eye may be able to tell a difference between 100 and 120 fps for example, but without an extremely fast paced first person shooter with your mouse sensitivity insanely high, you'll never notice the difference. Not just with frame drops of course, but the fluidity of the games will in every other case make absolutely no difference and it seems a pretty silly thing to state at such a conference. 25 -

PGR3, the only game touted as X360's true next gen game, has a HD that's not created within the game but is artificially achieved during output. And it also runs at a meger 30 fps!
