New details on the PS3's hardware have emerged in the latest issue of PlayStation Magazine. These new amazing details are coming from a US development source, believe them if you want.
The development source claim for a starter that the PS3 is actually easier to write games for than the Xbox 360, which is the opposite from what we have been led to believe so far. Next they go on about how the online service for PS3 will be just as comprehensive has Xbox Live. Xbox Live is one of the big selling points for the Xbox 360 so it will be interesting to see what Sony is planning for the PS3 as a solid online service will be much more important for the PS3 than it was for the PS2.Finally the devs claims a world wide release summer 2006, and that the console will make its debut at the CES show in Las Vegas in January 2006. No matter how much we want this info to be true, and it could very well be, do yourselves a favor an place this in the rumor box for now. Add Comment  1 -

Both party's are always saying things like this, and of course a developer that is busy for PS 3/Xbox 360 will praise the console they're working on. Get real guys, this is great if it's true, but there's no use getting your hopes up. The most unbelievable about this is actually the worldwide release, it would be great, but it seems doubtful Sony could/would pull that off. 7 -

The entire article is very iffy though and all we have here is heresay, no names, we don't have any idea which dev we are talking about at all. This is very suspect. It would be nice if online was as robust as Live but then I hope you don't have to pay for it like Live, either. 13 -

He did not say they were making a system like LIVE... just the oposite, he said they would leave it open ended and not controled like LIVE is. I think that is great... LIVE is nothing more than something that adds a monthly payment to your console and SELLS you levels that should have been in the game anyway. Look at socom2... it is run by the publisher... and the maps were given on demo disks of OPM. I think that is great. I own both the XBOX and the PS2, but when Bill Gates said he will release a new version of the 360 to deal with HD-DVD or Blueray when the standard is decided... that told me that if I buy a launch system it will not be able to play future 360 games when they start using the new format. I am not a fanboy of either system, but it is stupid to buy a 360 at least until the PS3 comes out to compare. But if you are stupid... I am sure Bill would love to have your $400... plus $60 for each game... plus $40 for LIVE.... plus $40 for the other controller... plus anything you download from LIVE before you see the PS3 to compare. 15 -

PS3 dose have better graphics, ai, physics, pipe lines, shaders, effects, pixels,vertices but Xbox360 dose have way more, Cell can take real life and put in a game, better cell, better video card, more pipe lines/pixels/shaders/ per cycle and per second, more trainsistors, more TFLOPS, more dot products, more color bit, higher hd resolution,WILL have more polygons and per second, and among other better/more things too prolly. All the Consoles have something unique about them. PS3 is going on raw power, Xbox 360 is going for great Online play and power, and the Revolution is letting you play all of your old Nintendo games that you've had. What I mean "PS3 is going for raw power" is that their focused on realistic environments and very detailed worlds. Xbox 360 is going for great online experience and great power (Not like PS3 power though). And the Nintendo Revolution is going for Past and Future games for all ages. If MS decides to implement HD-DVD, you can swap your current DVD player with the HD-DVD player without changing consoles of course. Haven't you seen the inside of the X360? And you don't pay for levels and that kind of stuff in general, you download updates, new content, for free. Only a few games had you paying for stuff, and that was alot of content. It doesn't matter who has the better graphics or who has the better toys or whatever, what matters is who has the better games. If these next gen consoles are anything like the previous xbox/PS2, then both will have sweet games. I'm not sure if I'll get gunned down for this comment but I have an Xbox, PS2, and a GameCube. Each one is great for different games. RPGs have been awesome on the PS2, Sports/action games/games that are on all three look better on the Xbox and have in game dolby, and zelda and metroid are only on the Cube. So you see I didn't buy each one because one looks better then another or has online gameplay or whatever, I bought each one for different types of games. I will say that the PS2 had a slight edge because it was out a little longer, hence it had more games. This will not be the case this time around so it will be interesting to see what games come out for what system. Obviously if you like halo you are going to buy a Xbox360, RPG fans are still going to, more then likely, find the PS3 to be the most appealing, and those who like the old nintendo games redone will still go for the Revolution. Reply to #54IrvDogg 11.15.2005 21:11 First off if your calling me a prick,then you better be able to back it up FAG.Second if you can prove my point wrong then be my guest,but it is hard to prove the facts wrong,that's why there called the facts.Yes I am an xbox fan, but that's because they have impressed me all around,and raised the bar[not bad for there first time out].I used to own a ps2 a die hard fan at that,but I've gotta stay with microsoft until they lay down[if they do].I play games for more than enough reasons but your probably ticked off because 1.I am right,and told the facts based on the history of sony,and the xbox. 2.You've never owned or played an xbox and fully experienced the whole thing to compare it to the ps2.you probably picked up the controller and said I'm not used to it and stopped playing because you're used to ps2 controller.OR 3.Your on a band wagon with your friends that all own a ps2,and knock xbox because you can't afford another console.I'm sorry you hate my comment,and I hate the fact of people getting ripped off when they can spend the same amount of money and get something way better with better quality's and features.If the PS3 is cool I will own one,no problem, but I think history WILL repeat itself unfortunately for playstation fans.I just wanted to stae some facts so that people will hopefully see, and putt into thought before there fealings and pocket book get hurt,hopefully not! but please consider and think about it.......OH YEAH the offer still stands if you can proof the facts wrong then be my guest,after all this is a forum.
