Hopewell Junction (NY) - In his first in-depth interview since releasing the version 1.0 specification for IBM's Cell microprocessor last week, the principal developer of the CPU's innovative new synergistic processor elements (SPE) tells Tom's Hardware Guide he sees Sony's PlayStation 3 - the first major platform to utilize Cell - as the driver for a new general-purpose programming environment, using Linux but bypassing the PC.

Besides, Heaven if free for anyone who is willing to make that surrender. Money just helps buy supplies to reach out to others. Heaven is a free gift from the lord jesus who died for your and my sins in hope that you wouldnt have to go to hell and to compare something as serious as that to a bunch of cells and wire (still a sick console and im wanna one !!) its just cheeky really cheaky and btw christains dont try to pay to get into heaven they doit to help the church as patrick said only an uneducated fool would try to pay to goe to heaven and a very nice statements from patrick and trumpeter any way yeah looking foward to ps3 gonna be nice still 7 -
yeahUnregistered - the fat one 09.06.2005 13:35 the guy above is right you cannot pay to get into heaven anyone who tried to pay to get into heaven by paying would almost certainly assure they didn't anyway im a christian but i still dont see how a comment thing on ps3 can turn into a argumant over religous morals i am deffinetly buying a ps3 but i most certainly wouldnt if it was a choice between my religion and a game console (who thinks sony will ever reach ps78?) 8 -

When the Cell was shown to the world in February this year, both Amd & Intel had no multicore processor. Since cells announcement, both companies have actively persued this avenue of performance (over the usual clock race). They have road-mapped their 2, 4 & 6 cores processors for the forseeable future. Even then they will be short of cores compared with the cell. Also, more importantly, cell is constrained to x86 architecture (circa 1985) - so it's free to evolve without being shackled to windows. As cell supports multi-operating systems/multistream media simutainously - it's comerial apllications are limitless. Be affraid wintel. God bless you all. 13 -
