Today Ubisoft and Gearbox Software announced that Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway is in development for next generation video game platforms, including the PLAYSTATION 3 system and the PC. Scheduled for a holiday 2006 release, Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway is the third game in the multimillion-unit selling and critically acclaimed Brothers In Arms franchise.

This year at E3 should be a good indicator to at least see if ps3 will be up to par with 1st generation 360 games! I think if you want a PS3 buy one but if you were like me you would wait and make sure that its really worth it after E3 or after you've tryed it at a kiosk kind of like the 360's before it's launches if they have any! 12 -

I love mine with many of the titles that have already launched and I know there are some really amazing, truly next-gen games that won't be far off. Here's the thing, the Xbox 360 games are getting better and better as true next gen designers are actually putting next gen technology into the games and not just a pc port over, the Xbox 360 has amazing power that translates into beautiful and brilliant game play. So the thing is soy still has major issues with the ps3, yes, including the bottle neck issue, it's showing to be severe with any game that's graphically intense. Firstly, only MOVIES will be in 1080p in the outset, but Sony can still say "PS3 can output 1080p", without any actual 1080p games for a long time down the line. At the end of the day, its hard enough to get around bottlenecks in the Cell as it is, but to get optimal 60fps, with dozens of physics on screens, AND at 1080p? That will not happen at launch, thank you very much. Oblivion, Halo 3, GRAW, PGR3, Sonic, TDU, Huxley, MotoGP06, Lost Planet, Dead Rising - Xbox 360 MGS4, Sonic - PS3 Only one (or two) games that are any good are coming on PS3, whilst 360 has amazing games, right now, and I can vouch for that. So in other words, they've stuffed a next gen game with next gen models and texturing with over 200+ hours of gameplay in to the equlivlant space (sans audio) into the standard DVD size of last-gen. Of course, with audio, it's MGS3 or San Andreas disk size. Oblivion still has more gameplay, AND it's next gen. Another point- PS3, by adopting the Blu-ray format exclusivly for all it's games, have alienated the PC developers. Think about it. PC Developers, such as Bethesda, aren't going to touch Blu Ray Technology for ages, since no PC's have them. Primarily, they're working to DVD9 or even DVD size. It would be a waste of resouces to put DVD9 size of data onto a Blu-ray disk, because it would not use the rest of the space AT ALL. Therefore costing more money. For SEGA releasing the next Sonic game, for example, are obviosuly working to DVD9 size for the 360 version, also the PS3 version will be the same. Therefore, SEGA are losing money by having to print DVD9 size data on a Blu-ray disk, all because SONY want to push their big shiny format. Remember, Sony has not won with UMD- Hollywood is backing out of that, thereby proving that Sony are incapable of pushing a new format purely on the Playstation brand. DVD had at least been around for a while before PS2 came out. That's why I think Microsoft have an edge. The Windows platform for develop coupled the DirectX 10 technology on 360, the award-winning LIVE infatracture, the easy delvelopment environment and the DVD-centric disk format means you're gonna see many blockbuster PC Games on 360, including the masssive MMORPG's. WoW 360 would not suprise me. Oblivion is an example of this- it's also convineant that Microsoft has the launch base it has, and all it's users- Oblivion has sold as many copies on PC as on 360, showing the market potenial for PC ports. And the Getaway is more impressive than PGR thank you. And gdc again showed this isn't cgi, is real-time all the way. And I'm playing Oblivion right now on a higher resolution than 720p on my pc. Let xb360 have its pc-ports, just like previous gen. And devs are happy with blu-ray. Rockstar are creating a new engine from the ground up to fully support blu-ray and cell. Phil said they need blu-ray for the Getaway at GDC. I bet even the guys of Epic are happy with it. Wheres The PS3 Fan Site?Chaos73 04.21.2006 13:35 Ok... I know I am new around here...but where is the PS3 fan site. I see alot of crap in here. Yes the Xbox360 is a cool machine....but here we wish for the PS3. Yes it's ok to own any or all of the NextGen systems (which I will do...I already have the 360) but, Can we kind of keep posts more slanted toward the PS3...our hopes...our dreams...or dislikes....things like this. Let's hope E3 doesnt dissapoint....face it we have not seen much really. We get alot of tidbits of news...CGI graphics and misinformation. My PS2 finally took a crap and I need that PS3.. :) Play on Gamers 40 -
1080p and blu-rayUnregistered - nirwanda 04.23.2006 16:30 blu-ray only runs at 24 fps so it's actually uses less data ie. less pixel's per second than either 1080i or 720p that most of the 360 games use also ms has confirmed that the hd-dvd drive will run in 1080p at 24fps same as blu-ray and as for the brothers in arms screen shot's they look like target renders to me if that in game on either console then so is motorstorm Add Comment |
