Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it is developing the fourth instalment of the Rayman franchise. Ubisoft’s iconic brand has entertained generations of gamers for 10 years and to date has sold more than 16 million units worldwide. The new Rayman video game is being developed by Ubisoft’s Montpellier studio, lead by Michel Ancel, creator of the original Rayman game, the critically-acclaimed Beyond Good & Evil and Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie. The new Rayman video game will launch during Holiday 2006 on current and next-generation consoles.
"Rayman is one of the brands that encapsulate Ubisoft’s ability to create characters and universes that appeal to all kinds of players," said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. "We are expecting this new Rayman video game to sweep players off their feet." Add Comment  1 -

For most gamers out there that is not a feasible solution every 6 months to a year spending 650-700 on a GPU just to keep up with games, like i said if you can afford then by all means do it. Since most don't and with the rising costs of next-gen consoles the good ol days of owning all three is rough task as well. I would rather spend my 59.99 or 49.99 on games like PC games, but with a PS3 or 360 i will not have to dish out an extra couple hundred bucks to play the damn game, where on the console i make my investment and it will play the same games the PC has sure within a year obviously toned down graphically, but if its a good game that difference will not ruin the experience. All i know is SONY and MS should look into making an option to upgrade their consoles GPU's this would save both money in the long run think about it a PS3 where in a couple years you can upgrade your RSX GPU to further pull CELLS power out, and Sony would not have to waste so much money on the console design process, etc. Just send your system in and get it upgraded or make the parts available to buy at a PC store or Gamestop and let them be licensed to replace these chips so your warranty is not voided. Just an idea i know if they did PC gaming would end and i personally prefer a console than a PC for gaming but that's My opinion. To each his own. Console or PC either way its all about GAMING GAME ON. 27 -

They're starting to bore me rather then enterain me; I'll go through the Genres' 'FPS' : -- You play one, you've played them all; Pointless, Start-Kill-Restart. 'RPGS' : -- Start lowly i.e. = Level '1' and build up, along side with gear. Sports : -- My god, Madden has made how many of the same verison? Racing : -- Need For Speed, GTA, PGR, Etc.. They all seem to have the 'same' idea; Start low and work your way up. RPG on Wheels. My favorite, Survival Horrors: -- Only one has ever tickled my fantasy the Silent Hill series; This is an RPG without any Leveling, Upgrading gear, Yadda yadda yadda... The {{{{{{STORY}}}}}} is the game and what grabs me. I'm not saying all the games in these genres are awful boring games. Just PLEASE! NextGen In My Living RoomUnregistered - Chaos73 04.16.2006 16:55 Ok, First off I am not a MS fanboy....I would say I side with Sony..as I owned the PS1 and the PS2 (and will own the PS3).....I never went out and bought the XBOX...first...cuz I had already fell in love with the PS1...second...The paddles were lame...and I knew the PS2 was gonna rip....BUT....this time....I decided not to limit myself. I have been reading all these crazy ass posts for awhile now....and to tell you the truth they are lame....so I thought I would share a little bit. I grew up with a Comadore 64 in my bedroom...then we migrated to the Atari 2600.....from there I went to the Nintendo..Super Nintendo...then the PS1 & PS2..with a few computers thrown in there as well for some gaming. This time I was sure I was only going to get the PS3 and skip on the XBOX360. So I went down to Gamestop the day the 360 released...and played some of the demos....I wasnt overyly impressed..but Call of Duty...kicked ass...and I thought...well this is a pretty cool machine....but I was still sure that I would hold out for the PS3....afterall...I hated the paddles for the XBOX.... So...the other day my PS2 finally took a crap...and started scratching up my games....and my 3 year old was all sad and crying cuz I just bought him Sponge Bob..and he couldnt play it...lol...anyway...I didnt want to go out and buy another PS2 when I knew the PS3 is on the way....and will be BC for the most part......So what do I do last night....I took the family into town and we splurged and got the XBOX360 premium bundle...bought the boy a few XBOX games..and I got Fight Night Round3 and Ghost Recon.....LOL....LOL.....LOL.... I guess I was fooling myself...cuz this machine friggin rips it......Dude the games I got are awesome...LOL.....If this machine isnt NextGen...then damn...the PS3 is really gonna kill....and I can't wait.... and even if the PS3 isnt way more powerful than the 360...well then thats ok too.....because they both are still steps up from what we had in our PS2's and XBOX's (if you owned one). I seriously can't believe the graphics and gameplay....the 360 is a great machine folks....Sony fans like it or not....( I consider myself a Sony Fan) So if any of you out there don't feel like limiting yourself to one gaming experience...then maybe you should try out the idea of....buying the 360....playing it right now while it's hot.....and then getting the PS3 when it releases.....then you will have 2 great machines...and maybe just maybe....the Nintendo will creep out of nowhere and demand your interest as well.....can you imagine 3 killer machine in your living room....pumping through your 60" Big Screen... Damn!!! It's a good time to be a gamer. One last thing....Remember when the PS2 came out and the launch games were really kick ass we all thought...but now looking back at how much more the games have developed...and how the graphics and everything have just been pushed to the limit and make the launch titles look like 16bit games. Well if you are ripping the 360 now and saying it isnt NextGen...and the games are not that cool.....well...just remember the above statement....(same will probably apply to our PS3 at launch)....these games and graphics will only get better and better people.... I say get em all.....and Play em all. and yes I think the PS3 will eventually pull out ahead as the clear winner in all of this......but I am stoked because I will have all 3 systems......and finally..decided to listen to what I wanted and stopped listening to all the nay sayers. I never played the first instalment but the Crimson Butterfly one scared the sh!t out of me. The sound effects, shadows and camera angles are to much to handle alone in the dark. So rent it go home turn out the lights and turn on the suround sound. 30 -
