At least that is what Marc Ninthly over at theinquirer.net is stating in his weekly Column. And to be honest Marc has some good points, one being the huge success of the very pricey Apple iPod. 399$ for a 60 GB Ipod? When so many people are willing to pay 300 - 400$ for a simple Ipod, is 400 – 500 $ for a high-end multimedia machine like the PS3 really that much?

However, I stopped playing my PS2 for about a year and a half. This led me to gaving my PS2 up for in-store credit for the xbox 360. PS3 will be a good console don't get me wrong but I am a bit tired of the Sony promises. The PS2 was supposed to be the entertainment center and it never happened. Sony followed in Nintendo's footsteps by offering expansion parts that were either not realized or not properly integrated with the system. What became of the PS2 HD? Nothing... I was one of those poor souls who purchased Final Fintasy for the HD. Also, if the PS3 is going to be a computer, why doesn't it not come with a hard drive? Isn't that one piece of hardware that is needed for a PC? The PS3 will do really well, but I will not get one. Sony may not care if they lose a customer here and a customer there, but that is just how Sony is. Let's make the consumer pay for our products but not support them very well. Unregistered - Cruiz 08.06.2005 09:13 I guess Marc Ninthly does make some sense. I guess it just really depends on how much you want a PS3. Also, about the above users comment. If you get so irratated with these promises that dont get kept, then get over it. Frankly, as long as my PS, PS2, PS3 can play games, then im hundreds. Now about your comment about there being no HDD, when SOny keep saying that PS3 will be like a computer. Think about this... if you ratio how many people want a PS3 cause it can play games, against people who want a PS3 to serve as a computer, then you would find that the latter is largely overwhelmed by the first. Adding the HDD only ups the cost of a single PS3, and yes... ytou wouldnt buy one then either, just cause it be too damn expensive. And lastly, if you're heading overboard just cause you dont like Sony's plan for PS3, then hit it, cause no one who's gonna buy one, really gives a damn. Response - wouldn't this mean that Sony should implement the HD. Pretty funny, did you mean former? I guess you want a PS3 for a computer rather than a gaming machine. So, buy a PC that can be upgraded in a couple of months. From above - "Adding the HDD only ups the cost of a single PS3, and yes... ytou wouldnt buy one then either, just cause it be too damn expensive." Response - not because it is too expensive, Sony just doesn't make the games that I enjoy anymore. GTA is on the Xbox. The Sony doesn't have Halo, Jade Empire, or KTOR. Elder Scrolls was dropped from the PS3 because of the HD. Also, all the RPGs that were originally a Sony exclusive will be multiplatform in the next gen. Sorry Sony but you can no longer rely on that as a strength. And lastly, if you're heading overboard just cause you dont like Sony's plan for PS3, then hit it, cause no one who's gonna buy one, really gives a damn. Response - I apologize about bashing Sony on a PS3 site. Just curious if anyone is really buying into the hype... I mean MS and Sony are really pushing alot of hype right now. In a couple of months, Nintendo will hyping the Revolution. Actually, that is already happening with the "mysterious" controller. This is fun! Unregistered - abir 08.30.2005 03:34 i think most people are going to get a ps3 because it is the best damm gaming console not because it serves as a comp hell every home and office has a comp then why increase the price of the ps3 for a thing that everybody already has Add Comment |
