Here's a clipping from a Computer & Video Game article about the use of the PSP with the PS3:
Broadly speaking, the present invention fills these needs by providing a system, a method, and a portable game device. The method of the system and portable game devices enables execution of a video game at a base computing device and wirelessly communicates processed data to a portable game device. So what we'd picture is an online-enabled PS3 providing a channel to the net, plus the raw grunt and processing power which it wirelessly communicates to the PSP where you'll play or enjoy the actual content. Fascinating stuff. So it looks like Sony envisages the PS3 and PSP working almost as one unit, to bring you the latest in games, movies, music and audio. Both the PSP handheld and PS3 game console will incorporate an 802.11 wireless standard in their designs according to multiple sources. There is no doubt that Sony will be putting it's nex-gen hardware eggs in the highspeed wireless internet hotspot basket. We've seen the handheld hook-up to a system before with the GBA and Gamecube. For some reason, I don't think that Nintendo utilized this feature as much as they could and I'm looking foward to seeing what else Sony will do with this. If you're planning on getting the PS3 at the launch in Spring, I would suggest that you start saving up your lemonade stand money now. Add Comment Unregistered - Ben Hanks 08.01.2005 10:16 This article is ridiculously spurious. To say that the PS3 will be the most powerful console on the market "without a doubt" when none of the specs on the system have been finalized is poor journalism at best. Will it be a powerful gaming system? Yes. But we can only wait for its release to find out just how powerful. Especially in light of Sony's hype machine that rarely delivers on its promises. Unregistered - Mike 08.01.2005 11:20 personally I will go for the Xbox 360. But it does look like the PS3 will infact be a more powerfull system, not that it will make any real difference though. Unregistered - Rob 08.09.2005 01:19 Claiming Sony falls short on promises while forgetting to mention the worldwide debacle known as Microsoft is sad and funny at the same time. MS is just as bad at stating things that NEVER come true or only partially do. Windows alone is a joke for the ages, and XBox while being superior to PS2 in technical aspects never used its potential and as of last check was losing HORRIDLY to Sony in the XBox versus PS2 war...who knows what tomorrow brings but I have a feeling Sony will win with PS3 but X360 will gain ground. Unregistered - ABIR 08.30.2005 03:16 i think the ps3 will be a success whatever its price . people speculate it will fetch a price 400to 500$ but so what music lovers pay that much for an ipod which is sold like anything in the market so cant we game lovers pay that much for the most powerful game console ever Add Comment |
