A recent survey conducted by research firm XTN Data in September gives Sony's console 5 per cent lead over Xbox 360 in the UK.
XTN Data asked 1000 people what console they were planning to buy, and the results showed that 32 per cent were planning to buy a PS3, while 27 per cent said they would purchase an Xbox 360. The survey did not ask respondents for their opinion on Nintendo's Revolution console.
So despite that Xbox 360 has occupied 90% of the next-gen news space for the last 6 month, Microsoft’s viral marketing schemes, and the fact that it will be available this Christmas, Sony still has strong support in the UK.
This shows how strong the PlayStation brand is, and it leaves no doubt that Microsoft will face a well armed enemy next year when Sony enters the battle field with its highly anticipated PS3.
